In Brea, a group of residents is demanding additional public records from the city. Their objective is to gain a clearer understanding of how city officials reached a tax-sharing agreement that is enabling the opening of a Costco store and gas station in town.
Meanwhile, Anaheim city council members recently voted to execute a land swap, exchanging a parcel of parking lot at the regional transportation center with the OC Vibe developer for a different lot across the street. This decision has met with opposition, as state officials have issued warnings against the move, suggesting a potential future dispute with the California High Speed Rail Authority.
On the policy front, Newport Beach City Council members have given approval for homeowner association cameras to be installed to monitor public streets. Los Angeles Angels owner Arte Moreno is reportedly seeking to sell the team to Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke.
